July
28, 2011 -- Summer wedding season has been crazy
busy (in a very good way!). And it looks like 2012
is going to be a busy year, too! Recently, I visited
the Burke Museum of Natural History in Seattle to
view my Wolf Haven wolf photos in action. I'm shown
here with my wolf "mood setting banners." The inset
is of one of the exhibit signs (that particular wolf
image also appears on exhibit posters and
promotional materials).
July 23, 2011 -- Hope to see you at the Cutting
Garden's Bridal Open House, tomorrow (Sunday) July
24 from 11:00 -3:00!
May
26, 2011 -- Wedding season is now in full swing!
Last weekend I had the honor of photographing an
incredibly beautiful wedding here in Sequim. The
ceremony and high tea were at the historic Dungeness
School House (shown here) and the reception took
place at the Purple Haze Lavender Farm. Check out my
wedding photo gallery to see more photos!
MAY
2, 2011 -- Just returned from spending a couple of
days at Wolf Haven photographing its beautiful
residents for their spring 2011 adoption photos and
the 2012 wolf calendar. Wolf Haven is heaven on
earth, in my opinion. This photo is of a male wolf
named Myta Jr. He's a little round about the waist,
but he sure can fly through the air with the
greatest of ease!
APRIL 26, 2011 --
The Burke Museum of Natural History's (UW) upcoming
exhibit "Wolves and Wild Lands in the 21st Century"
will run from June 4 -September 5. Posters,
promotional materials and the exhibit itself will
feature a selection of my wolf photos. I am truly
honored to have my work showcased at such an
important exhibit. Find out more information on the
Burke Museum's web site at
www.washington.edu/burkemuseum/event/wolves_wildlands/
MARCH
19, 2011 -- My second sold-out Wolf Haven Photo Tour
of 2011 was a huge success! The weather on Thursday was perfect,
the wolves were kindly cooperative... A wonderful
time was had by all! (Photo at left of Bart, male
gray wolf). My next Photo Tour won't be until fall
of next year, date TBA. Check out Wolf Haven's web
site at
www.WolfHaven.org for details!
MARCH
8, 2011 -- What a beautiful weekend this last
weekend was for a Port Gamble wedding! Port Gamble
is such a sophisticated yet quaint location and so
very reminiscent of my New England origins. I love
it!
MARCH 3, 2011
-- Yesterday I had the honor of participating in the
Sequim High School's Career Day, 2011. The event,
organized by the Sequim Sunrise and Noon Rotary
Clubs brought together a truly impressive variety of
professionals to spend time with students interested
in pursuing careers in their fields of expertise.
During four sessions I (along with three other
artists) got to share my experience and practical
advise with nearly 150 art-minded students. What a
gift!
FEBRUARY
23, 2011 -- Wow! Check out the Sequim Gazette's 2011
Wedding Planner... what a fabulous job they did! The
design is beautiful, the content is so very useful
to anyone planning a wedding AND the photos are
wonderful... I might be a bit partial, as all of the
photos used in the planner (except for the ad on the
back cover) were taken by me! It's a "must have" for
anyone planning a wedding!
FEBRUARY
22, 2011 -- The PDN Bridal Show was a hit! What a
great opportunity to spend time with colleagues in
the wedding industry and meet so many Brides and
Grooms-to be! I had a great location, right between
That Takes the Cake and
Cameron's Cafe & Catering. My favorite
display was
The Cutting Garden and
Cutting Garden Florist, complete with
beautiful flowers, a garden bench and even a
miniature rock-lined pathway! Thanks to everyone who
visited my booth for your amazing compliments and
enthusiasm for my work!
SUNDAY,
FEBRUARY 13 -- Pick up your copy of today's
Peninsula Daily News' (PDN) Bride & Groom
bridal planner section of the PDN (featuring my
photo, page 3, at left). You'll find my ad on page
10. Stop by and visit my booth at the Bridal Show
one week from today at the Navel Elks Lodge
Ballroom, 131 E. First St., Port Angeles. See you
there! And Happy Valentines' Day (one day early!).
FEBRUARY 4,
2011 -- So much has been going on lately... Booking
weddings, a Wolf Haven Photo Tour, the upcoming Port
Angeles Daily News Bridal Show.... My prime wedding
months are booking quickly. Here's a hint: if you're
interested in booking a wedding with me, you might
want to check my 'client login' section, as it lists
all official bookings by date. Keep in mind that I only post an online gallery once a wedding has
been officially booked (ie. agreement and retainer
in hand)!
WEEK OF JANUARY
10 -- Thanks to Amanda Winters of the Sequim Gazette
for a wonderful article on my recent national
publicity.

JANUARY 7, 2011
-- Mark your calendars for the 2011 Peninsula Daily
News' Wedding Expo, February 20th. Stop by my booth
and say "Hello!"
JANUARY 6, 2011
-- Happy New Year! If you're at the Kitsap Wedding
Expo on Sunday (the 9th), check out That Takes
the Cake... Sue's cakes are beautiful and they
taste A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Try her almond cupcakes with
almond creme filling for a real treat and
pick up one of my rack cards while you're there!
DECEMBER 27,
2010 -- Just finished sending a batch of my wolf
photos to CNN.com for inclusion in an upcoming
travel segment. I'll post the link here when it
becomes available.
DECEMBER 15,
2010 -- I just received word that my Wolf Haven wolf
photos aired on The Weather Channel today!
DECEMBER 12,
2010 -- It's taken me waaaaaay too long in my
opinion, but I have at last completed my site
makeover! Yay! I've tried to retain the simplicity
of my last design while paying more attention to the
artfulness of it... I am an artist, after all!
DECEMBER
10,
2010 -- Today we attended our third Christmas tree
lighting this year, complete with fireworks! I'm
beginning to feel as though we're "collecting" tree
lightings. The fireworks had such an eerie beauty,
as they rained down on a nearby cemetery.
DECEMBER 8,
2010 -- Received an inquiry today from The Weather
Channel... apparently one of the segment producers saw my wolf photo in
Delta Sky Magazine this month and wants to
incorporate some of my
wolf photos into their "Why I love Winter"
week (week of December 13).
DECEMBER
5, 2010 -- The Jul Fest in Poulsbo was a Swede's
delight! Seeing St. Lucia arrive in her Viking
vessel was unbelievably pensive and beautiful.
DECEMBER
1, 2010 -- The month got off to a pretty cool start
today with the publication of Delta Sky Magazine's
Extreme Winter Top 32. According to Delta Sky
Magazine editors and Olympian Shaun White, my Wolf
Haven Photo Tours rank #10 on a list of the top 32
things to do when it's 32 degrees! Sandwiched right
in between Quebec City and 'Best Ice Hotels' of
Sweden and elsewhere. So if you're flying the
friendly skies with Delta this month, check out page
70 of your in-flight copy or go to
Deltaskymag.delta.com and do the same.
NOVEMBER 20,
2010 -- For the second year in a row I spent our
region's First Snow Day doing two of my very
favorite things: photographing a wedding and
playing in the snow! It was perfect, as the Bride and Groom
met years ago on Christmas and the lovely Bride was
a trooper from Finland who insisted on marching
right out into the snow in her four-inch
sequin-encrusted heels!
NOVEMBER
4, 2010 -- Today was the wolf lab day for Wolf
Haven's Humane Wildlife Handling and Chemical
Immobilization class. Taught by Mark Johnson,
DVM, of Global Wildlife Resources, Inc.
who was the Veterinarian for the Yellowstone
Wolf Reintroduction. What an incredible honor it
was for me to photograph Mark working with
students, Wolf Haven staff and highly endangered
Mexican gray wolves. Talk about making a
difference in the world... Check out his Feral
Dog Blog:
